Been looking around and one thing I noticed we don't have here is a thread for people to show off their setups so I decided to create one.

Who wants to be 1st? (I would show mine but I'm still building a new system).

Don't be shy!!

My client setup is shown here (well, how I made it): http://www.avforums.com/forums/home-entertainment-pcs/1447441-robbos-floating-shelves-htpc.html (AMD X2-265 CPU, with 60GB SSD, blueray and ATI5450 GPU)

    This is the completed system:

I am currently building a new server in a Lian Li PC-Q07 case (i3-3225 CPU on an Asus P8H77-i ITX motherboard with 60GB SSD, 4GB RAM, 4.5TB storage and BGT3600 tuner) - it is going to be a tight squeeze!

The problem of now having an i3-3225 server with a modern motherboard, is that the client seems comparatively slow and I feel like I need to upgrade that too!

How can I get another £200 worth of kit under the radar without the wife realising?!

take out a bank of memory, so the client has to pagefile everything ... say that the MoBo is getting a bit worn out, she'll get tired of waiting and start suggesting you need to look into a solution ... and tell her that prices have dropped recently, but the MoBo you were looking at is not available now, because you waited too long to respond to the deal and it was replaced with newer tech. Purchase the MoBo, CPU, heat sink and memory separately, over a few weeks time, and have them shipped to a couple friends' houses. Then say that your friend had some spare parts to try, to see if things improved.

Or you could beg, on your knees, and promise to do dishes and vacuum the house for 2 months.

BTW ... I didn't have to stretch the truth too far, my grandsons bought the memory and heatsink for me for Christmas, but it still took me several months to get a compatible MoBo and CPU purchased.

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback. If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo. I have...

As Alexander Pope said: A little learning is a dangerous thing, and Dr Google explains this as: The quotation warns that superficial knowledge of a subject can make people arrogant or foolish, suggesting one should either learn deeply or not at all. "Superficial", and "arrogant or foolish" would be me  . However... I would...

I was not previously aware of the "Drive Free Space" plugin, and it is not easy to find. (There really ought to be an easier way of finding plugins.) There is this thread that introduces the plugin, and this thread that details some changes to the Titan skin made by Gary Martyn (from 2013  ). I installed the plugin on my Aorus...
