SMPeditor crashed after splash screen download (1 Viewer)

Im not really sure SoxBrother, your log seems to indicate that the StreamedMPEditor DLL is not compatible with MediaPortal but it should be. I wonder if its a redherring and its complaining about something else.

Could you try temporarily removing the dll from the directory, put it in C:\Temp or something and retry to see if problem fixes itself.

I've moved the file to another folder and MP configuration doesn't give the error anymore.
When I go into "plugins" I still see the plugin "StreamedMP configuration".
Isn't the Basic Home Editor also supposed to be there ?
Because I moved the dll file, so I'm guessing something isn't present in the plugins menu,
or am I wrong ?

Anyway I don't have the error anymore.

Now for the problem inside MP, I have started the MP watchdog and when inside MP I went into the video settings and tried all the 8 options there,
and I didn't get any of the windows that supposed to show up.
On the other hand when I go into the audio settings, I do get the windows where I can change the settings.

I made a log file with watchdog, hopefully you can get any wiser out of this.

StreamedMP configuration is another plugin which resides in the windows folder, the editor is a process dll and is only there so you can also launch it from MP Configuration. However, by moving the file outside of that directory you will probably find that the SMP Editor shortcut on the desktop wont work as its a shared Dll and needs it to be in specific locations.

I dont know why its incompatible for you, I can see you are getting a null reference exception thrown when entering in the above setting pages in the GUI.

Have you tried switching skins to see if the same issue occurs?

I've switched the skin to the default wide skin,
but I still don't get the video options to work,
audio options do work, but they worked with the StreamedMP skin as welll.

I've included the log I made using the watchdog,
using the default wide skin.

I hope there is a solution.

@ltfearme Problem still exists in the installer which can be downloaded from the plugins page. Do you think you will update this? Im sure not everybody finds this thread.

Yeah, I will release a full installer soon with whatever changes I have made since the last release. Mostly trakt updates I think.

Hi. How are we doing today?
I am having this same problem with SMPeditor crashing during splash screen download,
It downloads up to 100% and then crashes.
I found this post and downloaded the zip file above and used it as instructed but the problem is not solved.
Can someone help me out here.

Likewise... I'd been a long-term user of MP and StreamedMP (for more than 10 years) and had given up on seeing these additional SPLASH and Weather files. Thought I'd chime in for your assistance. I also had downloaded and replaced the StreamedMPEditor.dll as provided earlier w/o and success. I get an error with an option to continue which does nothing.

The problem is the editor was using an older security standard which GitHub no longer supports, I have updated it in this patch attached. If you replace your dll in plugins/process it should do the trick for you.

Thank you. Would you mind releasing an up-to-date-version with all those fixes? I found it very annoying for me as a long-term-user to search all patches and get some files even from a backup to get everything back in a working state. A novice user will have no chance to enjoy your skin (which is still the best for MP in my opinion).

YES... the attached StreamedMPEditor.dll file (version 3.2.1.2) DOES work with MP 1.19 as stated and now twice confirmed! THANKS for posting this as it's been years since I've been able to download the alternate splash screens, and weather animations!

I agree a new version would be nice... Although I realize we're all busy. THANKS
