I understand that it is not supported but CAN softkeys work with mediaportal or do they need direct support in order to work? I hate to beat a dead horse but I don't understand what the big deal is. It's a need of many people and, in the spirits of opensource, should not be a big heated political/legality issue. Maybe there should be agreements check with one's provider before using said support but that is it. Thanks.
As has been said, it cannot be supported and its a policy not to discuss it any further on these forums.
There is a post somewhere on the forum from some time ago where people link to a diff. board where this is discussed. If they ever got somewhere, I don't know.

Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal.
