    Hi Idioteque,

At this moment you can only sort on the items that are shown in the pull down box. I have to agree that year could be a logical one to add.

In case you want your songs grouped by the years in which they are released than you can use the years view.

    Jan

    To the MP team,

I'm not sure where to write this message (have also posted in general>mediaportal talk, but I feel it should be read by
as many people as possible, if only to show the effect your work has in
    everyday "digital life"....

I just wanted to say what a fantastic piece of software. Having been using
it for about 1 year now I am immensely impressed with ALL aspects and its
just so satisfying to use. I absolutely love using it and would find it
hard to cope without it! It brings to life digital media in the home. What
I find astonishing is the real sense of community and interest shown in the
continuous development of this software. I mean where else could you write
directly to the software team themelves and actually be listened to?
More-over where else would user suggestions actually get implemented,
especially at the speed done by you guys. I am constantly impressed by the
buzz of constructive and effective activity in the forums. It just goes to
show that you have captured people's minds and their unreserved attention
with this software. Even the "complaints" and suggestions are taken onboard
well and everyone seems to want the software to do well and be improved! To
think that you guys give up a significant amount of your spare time without
financial gain is all the more impressive and completely unselfish. There
are not many things in life where you get something for nothing. MP proves
that with a great bunch of talented, intelligent and determined people you
get fantastic results in THE best media management software around. Once
again congratulations and never give up!!!

I see there is a paypal donation link on the homepage. I have no idea how
many users actually donate, but I suspect you get less than you all
deserve. I therefore call to anyone and everyone to show their appreciation
and make a donation. Even if its only a very small one, if enough people
donate then it will add up to be something worthwhile for all the hard work
the MP team have put in. Of course, I will be making a donation
    myself........

Hats off to you all. What you have really is inspirational.

    Colin

    Hi Koudijs,

Over the last couple of SVN's I've noticed that the My Music view "albums" no longer works. If "albums" is selected in MP config as a view type, when you browse music in MP the green highlighter is stuck on the layout option in the top left of screen. If you change to "list" view type all is ok.

Please could you have a look at that, as I always use "albums layout" for viewing albums......

I have 2 PCs and this has happened on both with different SVNs (since last 3-4 SVN's I think?). I use BlueTwo skin.

EDIT: If I change skin to green mepo album view works ok, so must be a skin issue with bluetwo and bluetwo wide?

    Cheers,
    Colin

    Hi Colin,

There is indeed a problem with the "album" layout in combination with the BlueTwo skin. We are working on it...

    Hi Koudijs,
Which wide skin works better in album view than BlueTwo?
    TIA!

The problem with the album view was fixed shortly after my previous post. The BlueTwo skins in the current svn version have a working album view.

    Hi Koudijs,
Do I need your dll for this sorting to work with current svs? I have't tried it yet and are having trouble with sorting of albums within one artist. Artist are sorted nice but the albums with the artist isn't sorted, if you understand what I meen.

    Here is one exampel

    Abba
    The Album
    Waterloo
    Ring Ring

Another question as well. Is there a way to stop translation of "Varoius Artists"? My "Various Artists" albums ends up under "Blandade Artister" wich is the swedish translation. It's confusing to look under "V" in file mode and under "B" in database mode.

Thanks alot for this great product and keep up the good work!

    Hi Hemulen,

The dll is outdated and should not be used, just use a recent svn version.

If you are using the Artists view and you select an artist you should get a sorted list of the albums, ('Sort by:' button set to Album). If this is not the case than you have to configure the view in Music->Music Views in configuration.exe.

I don't think it is possible to avoid translation of the Various Artists entry.

    Hope this helps,
    Jan

First thing to say is that I use MP1, whereas I believe that you use MP2. @ge2301 has just posted that MP2 has a "folder view" in addition to the "library view", so you should be able to set up your system as I describe below, but the details will differ. In MP1, the folders that are to appear on the "Videos" panel are defined in "MP...

According to Wikipedia, Windows only uses code pages other than UTF-8 to support legacy (mostly 32 bit) applications and supports two code pages in addition to UTF-8 (OEM and ANSI). According to Microsoft, UTF-8 has been the preferred character set since 2019. If TV Server (or its import routine) were using UTF-8, then umlauts...

I eventually came across the TwinHan driver CD that was included with the original product. The CD contains numerous drivers for the different TwinHan tuner models, but the drivers are for Win 2K (32-bit only) and Win XP (32-bit and 64-bit). The drivers install directly on Vista, and the drivers can be installed on Win 7 and Win 10...
