AW: Re: The Future of MyFilms?

Hey, I noticed some minor things. Latest release, Blue3 skin.

First: #selectedindex and #itemcount works only in mesfilms.xml, but I would like to use it in mesfilmsdetail.xml too.
That is impossible, as there is no facade in Details view. Details view is designed to be an infopage for a single movie entry.
So both properties don't make sense anyway - if you want to have those, you should use MainView, as there is the right place for it.

Second: when I browse movies in mesfilms.xml (original)titles are displayed well on minidisplay. But in mesfilmsdetail.xml I see only #myfilms.menu.overview, #myfilms.menu.description, #myfilms.menu.comments... literally.

Can I do something about it or these parts are still under development?

    Thanks,
    vrm.

Hmmm, if you see those labelstrings, then I assume, you do not have latest plugin dll installed. Please check the date of mesfilms.dll in pluginfolder and post the filedate. There is some minor things still being updated, but those things should work ok.

why isnt MyFilms for download in the MP repository?

It will, as soon as it's ready for it - hopefully soon... - depending on feedback/reports/bugs.

OK, it has only cosmetic relevance to me. However #myfilms.nbobjects.value works in details view, and it returns the same value as #itemcount. I thought you can do something similar with #selectedindex. "No. 672 of 18" looks funny if I use any filter.

Actually not the buttons that I wold see on minidisplay but the movie titles. Which is (based on the above issue) also impossible, I guess.

still not sure, if it makes sense, but I added a property #myfilms.selectedindex.value that should have the indexposition in next version (and keep it in Details).

I just tested here and it works ok - have a look in the mediaportal.log to see if those properties are populated properly.

    Hi,
I just noticed that in the Configuration as Catalog Type now there is also Extreme Movie Manager (XMM)!
I don't know since wich version there's this oprion, but.... it's a working option??
I've tried to create a new set with the XML file exported from the last version of XMM, but nothing to do!
My films says that doesn't contain any movie and creates a new file _tmp.

Attached there are a sample of the xml exported from XMM and the tmp file created from my movies.

Anyone has tried using an XML from XMM???

    Thanks
    G.

Whether it makes sense or not, I would like it this way :)
    So :D in advance!

I'm away from that HTPC on weekdays but I will check again minidisplay on the weekend.

    Hi Gianlk,
I have not yet tried ANY of the "non-ANTDB" databases with myfilms. So it would be nice, if they could be tested and feedback given here - so the support for movieapps can either be fixed or removed. I assume, that the current support is for auite old version (?).
Will note it on my tracker to not forget about it.

    Thanks for testing and reporting.

    Thanks!
I also tried with the old export of XMM (older versione doesn't have xml export feature), but no luck!
It gives me the same error!

I really hope it will be fixed as I'm an XMM user and I would like this feature!

Thank a lot of taking care of it!

    Hi,

I looked into it and in fact, the import of XMM is either broken or never worked.
I can fix it, but I don't know, if the current importer might still be used by someone else?

So I'd like to ask to post some samples of older XMM XML-Files, so I can check.
I also need to know where the coverimages are located, as there is only the filename in the XML file.

It may seem strange, but the open-source license allows anyone to sell physical CDs or DVDs to customers, provided that, for example, the source code is made available upon request and additional value is provided, such as an installation manual. Both of these are mentioned in the product description, so it appears to be legitimate...

Fixed, I think. Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this. Last time when I installed the...
