SVN 15629 works fine at boot aswell so it looks as though what was fixed has remained fixed.

The only oddity is the remaining problem of the server stream not being sent to network clients affter a return fom an s1/s3 event.

Anyone who experienced the boot problem have you checked the latest SVN's, do they work for you? , can you feed back in this thread so that the devs know that the bug is fixed.

Well, short lived success as the SVN 15638 now fails to start at boot.

Logs attached, maybe a dev can see what was so different in this release to cause the failure compared to the last two releases.

So the error looks like problems starting up the connection to the database, so why is this happening at boot ? Why are so few reporting the problem (I tend to use S1/S3 most of the time so it doesn't affect me then) and why are there so few lines and no errors shown for the TVSERVICE logs?

    Hi,

I am also still experiencing this issue and I am also quite surprised that not more people are complaining about it. Maybe everybody is just listenting and thinking "I have the same problem but it is already reported"...

Please: Confirm or not confirm this bug.

@MP devs: Is anybody working on this or are you all busy working on the final release 0.2.3.0?

    Hi,
I don't think many ppl experience this problem @ all, i have never had it here & have 2 comps starting everyday & restarted several times in a day due to testing.
I really don't know what this could be else then a time/connection problem & why it happens i dunno

    Regards

For me it sounds like a race condition on startup of the service when the machine is booted. As ronsile said not everyone having this problem. I'm also on the latest SVN, single seat, MSSQL Express and did not encounter this problem so far.

Did you encounter the probelm if you set the TVService to "manual" then reboot and start the service manually?

    grubi.

I have the same problem on a server that has a very slow boot up time due to the fact that it does web, mail etc etc.

The tvservice is always Off. I have to start setupTv and then in turn let it start tvservice.

Not relying on the logs (which aren't produced at all when the TVSERVICE fails at boot) but bringing the task manager into focus as soon as the affected PC's boot to desktop and the TVSERVICE is runnng (trying to start) but fails after thirty odd seconds (checked by bringing up the clock).

Keeping a note of the times and then checking against the service logs for MS-SQL and the TVSERVICE is starting well before the MS-SQL has finished starting.

So as mentioned above this looks more like a timing problem (dependencies ?) with certain setups(does this only affect slower machines with MS-SQL).

How can a longer delay in the start of the TVSERVICE be added to try to workaround this problem?

Is the dependency set for the TVSERVICE for the starting of MS-SQL (where a failure may happen) or for the MS-SQL to have completly finished its start up.?
