My TV-service doesn't autostart anymore... I don't know why!

I've checked services.msc and tv-service is set to automatic-mode...

it must start automatically then when windows starts.

if not, check Windows Eventlog for entries please.

how to change the processing priority of the TV Service (change it to 'high' instead of the default 'normal')
    why???

Because my TV Card (Compro DVB-T300) needs to run with a high processing priority. Otherwise playback and recording stutters if you do anything else on the pc (or even a background service starts to kick in - e.g. virus scan). This is a known issue with the card and was fixed in an update of the Compro TV software (it now automatically runs with the priority set to 'high').

Where can I find the eventlog file/program?

thats not a fix, thats a bloody workaround for a bug their have in their FW and/or drivers.

    Start -> Run -> eventvwr

LOL, Compro are a bunch of useless muppets....

Anyway, it still leaves me in a bit of a pickle, because I need to up the priority for the TV to work smoothly.

I'm not too sure what I'm supposed to be looking for or posting regarding the TV Service not starting automatically. There are lots of entries for MSSQL$SQLEXPRESS

hey grimerking, i'm using a compro t200, and i've had some similar problems to what you've got!

with the tvserver not starting automatically, i ended up writing a batch file that paused for 2 minutes, then ran "net start tvservice". i then set the tvserver service to manual startup, and put that batch file in my startup group and it solved the problem for me.

i'm definitely going to try setting the tv server to high priority now - i've been getting stacks of pauses and stuttering since changing to tve3, so if this solves it - you'll have my eternal thanks!!! :p

The error will show in the 'system' root of the tree you show and will likely be specifying that the tvservice didn't respond in a timely manner, waited so many mileseconds failed to start etc.

I have seen this error on systems that are very busy loading apps etc on startup, it could be that the TVservice is making calls to SQL which hasn't finished loading and the TVservice fails to respond in a timely manner.

Could be a failing with dependencies.

    Hi Zombie,

If you could post a copy of the batch file, I would be very grateful. Also, if you find a way to make it start in high priority at the same time, that would be fantastic.

    Thanks,

    Rob

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback. If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo. I have...
