Try 'UK all regions' instead - it tries every channel so it's slow but should get all the muxes.

I don't understand why you keep saying "frequency 786167" won't tune to anything... are you doing a scan for channels in TV Server Config? What we think has happened is the channels have moved to another frequency... they are no longer on 786167...

That file looks wrong - what did it look like before? Have you added 167 to the end of each entry or something? The 167 is catered for in the "offset" bit.
You need to get the old file, look for the one whch was 786000 and try changing JUST THAT ONE VALUE to 802000.

I was not able to find any channels using the country uk, and user/proveder winterhill, then click scan for channels

I had to use the use advanced tuning options, then single transpoder, then enter each frequency's in the box 786167

This was the only way i could tune my channels , always worked before , but now i know how to enter the freq to the TuningParameters

    After you told me

I have now found the new freq for the bbc channels its 801834, and all is working now , now i will enter them in the tuningParameters

I found the new freq using a free app called ScanChannelsBDA-UK, here is a link to download it

Many Thanks for all your help on this , i really appreciate it

Thanks for that Marson, I have had exactly the same problems with Winter Hill and Freeview. I have scanned the channels numerous times and still no BBC1 or 2, although on the rescan both tuners updated their channels and found additional ones.

When the OH finishes watching her films this afternoon, I'll try what you suggest!

    Thanks again. :D

I did it late last night, and I just rescanned all UK Channels instead of the Winter Hill specific one, and both the tuners found the new channels on 802. I did a bit of fiddling about, deleted the old BBC 1 and BBC 2 channels and EPG is working OK, along with the the TV channels that had previously vanished.

I can't seem to get BBC News channel now, did this move too?? or could it be that in my misguided attempts to get the thing working I have buggered MP up?? When I first installed MP I had it working beautifully and I then installed a couple of plugins; one for scheduling recording and one for the BBC iPlayer - after removing them it seemed to be working much slower, and since the last couple of days of messing, more so

If I were to just install MP again would it overwrite everything completely, or just overwrite the files that have been changed by plugins. The reason I ask is that I have a number of shoutcast channels as favourites in addition to a number of TV programs that have been recorded. I have MP on my C: drive and all recordings & timeshifting are on a separate hard drive.

I also note that from Dec 2nd 2009, Winter Hill will be the first in the country to start DVB-T broadcasts in HD. :) I currently use a Peak Dual Tuner PCI card; can anybody recommend a good replacement that can do the job but allows for HD receiving on DVB-T?

Many thanks in advance for any advice offered

    Mike.

Terrestial HDTV broadcasting in the UK is going to use a new DVB system - DVB-T2 - DVB-T2 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As the UK is going to be the first country to use this system, you'll just have to keep an eye open for when the first DVB-T2 PC tuners arrive.

Thank for that Tony. As you could tell from the post I thought it was more advanced than it actually is. I'm very impressed that it has been driven and developed by the BBC.

I'll keep a look out for suitable cards, but it does seem like early days yet! :(

    Hi

I don't use the TV engine just the built in tuner so the above location for the file is not the same.

Sorry to sound thick! Can someone tell me what I am supposed to do with the UK.Winter Hill file, I've tried coping it into c:\program files\team-mediaportal\Tuningparameters\

but no luck, I also tried cutting and pasting it into the existing dvbt file but that just crashed the configuration utility.

    Help!

    Thanks

    Yogiman!

Perhaps... Only way to confirm would be for me to invest in a different USB DVB-S2 tuner (like the Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-S2), which I might do if the issue persists.
