    Next step is to configure or learn the IR commands.

    Try to find the vendor/model of your STB in the quick setup field. If you can find it, select it and click "set.

    If not, you will need to learn the commands for 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 back in the main part of the TV3 Blaster plugin -> IR Commands tab. When you learn the commands, make sure you hold the remote very close (1 inch or so) to the USB-UIRT's receiver. Also make sure to select the correct port to blast with. You can probably blast with both ports, but technically it is probably better/faster to only select the 1 port (port 1 or port 2) that you're actually going to use. If your STB requires you to press "4" + "2" + "select/OK/enter" (or changes channel faster when you do that) then you probably also want to learn the "select/OK/enter" command too. After learning, go back into the STB setup (remember to select the correct tab for your tuner!) and assign the commands for "Digit 0" through "Digit 9" (and optionally: "select"). You assign a command by selecting the command row, selecting the corresponding command in the drop-down list below the commands, then clicking "set".

    I cannot tell you what values to use for the settings on the right hand side. You will need to use common sense + trial/error to work them out. I would be quite surprised if the defaults are not okay.

    After doing all this, use the "test" function in the bottom right hand corner to test that the blaster is working. We cannot proceed until the blaster is working.

    When I reload IRSS, I had it load as a SERVICE (which is the recommended method). The other choice was as an APPLICATION. Also, it will not let me check some options. see above screen shot. Is this a problem. I cannot get the tv3 option that you mentioned. Do I need to re-install as an APPLICATION?

    Yes, that is right - you want it as a service.

    Which version of IRSS are you attempting to install?

    If I recall correctly, security software was partially blocking the installer.

    OK. I loaded 1.5.0.99. The recommended method is to install as an APPLICATION. I loaded it as a SERVICE based on your comments above.
    I still do not have the TV3 option. The above screen shot where "MediaPortal not available" is still greyed out, not letting me check it. I have done everything but reboot.

    Okay.

    If you currently have the Hauppauge Blaster working with WinTV 8 on the same PC then I am going to assume that the driver/software (IRBlast) is already installed and correctly configured for your STB. That being the case, all you have to do in TV Server is:
    1. Open TV Server configuration.
    2. Go into the plugins section.
    3. Enable (tick) the ServerBlaster plugin.
    4. Restart the MP2 Server.
    5. Open TV Server configuration again.
    6. Expand the plugins section in the left pane and go into the ServerBlaster plugin sub-section.
    7. Select blaster type Hauppauge.
    That's it. :)
    Now I think you should be able to go back to the TV Channels section and test preview again. This time the preview should show the correct channel, not just the channel that is currently selected on the STB. If that doesn't work, try restarting MP2 Server and try again. If it still doesn't work after that, please post log files again.
