I tried to start MP 1.0 but the screen stays on 'Initializing DirectX'. I get an error message: VMR9 handler is outdated. Can anyone help me to fix this?
I have the same problem, upon launch of MP1.0 the screen stucked at init DirectX and I go to Windows Task Manager and discover VMR9 Handler is Outdated in application. I killed it and MP1.0 continued. It worked. I tried everything, and it worked. I can watch movie, TV, music etc.
But after that first time fluke, When I start MP1.0 again it always crashed afterward, everytime I try it crashed. And I can't write the log, because the log crashed too. I waited for like 10 minute and the log bar thing just stuck half way. So sorry can't post log.
Is there any other options beside XP SP3 ? My PC wouldn't work (like I have to re-install Win XP32 if I put in SP3) I had to roll back to SP2. It's an old PC I am using for HTPC.
Later I am going to try windowsxp-kb927544-x86-enu.exe as another older thread suggested, will that work as an alternative to SP3 ?
I am going to report back later when I have time to try it. But if there are other solution please help me. Thank you.
maybe setting loglevel to debug might pinpoint the difference between normal and stuck?
Preferable with as much disabled as possible
also try to see if anything is happening during stuck for the mediaportal process(resource monitor, disk activity, cpu usage, anything)
maybe other programs competing for resouces?

Thank you for this tip! I'm moving MP TV Server to a new machine. I installed the 64-bit version and most of the MP firewall rules were set to Public. I couldn't connect to the new TV Server from my old single-seat installation running 32-bit until I changed all MP-related firewall rules on the new machine to Private. Before I did...

If you’re planning to submit a pull request, let’s go through the list of issues and their solutions.
I or someone from the team will create a Jira ticket, and for each ticket, you’ll make the changes and submit a pull request.
This will be transparent and straightforward.

I don't think so, because MP has no way of knowing at which timestamp the external player stopped playback.
Best way to achieve this would be to use an auto-resume feature in your external player itself. (MPC-HC can do that, I don't know about VLC)
