Firstly, I'd guess your firewall is blocking MP from the search. Search the firewall logs to be sure. FYI. Every time I update MP to a newer version I have to let my firewall know that the new version is allowed internet access.
Secondly, try using it for a well-known city i.e. Sydney. If that works then you know it's an issue with the city you are choosing.
Somehow it's working now. Unfortunately not all cities can be added. Major city like Singapore cannot be found. If cities are picked from the Weather Channel (which has Singapore in their database), why is it not recognised in MP?
It's probably that your firewall is blocking the Configuration.exe to connect to the internet... you have to go to properties on your firewall app. and give mediaportal\Configuration.exe an exception rule to go to the internet.
Ok, thanks much. I will look into the instructions above. For the moment, I turned off the "Automatic channel logo update" in Settings (which somehow I had missed, I think because it wasn't an option previously), and the deleted everything in the Flat-default folder and populated it with my own logos. Works, so far.
