What Plug in I need to install (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I'm new. I found I can't play the RMVB, AVI, MKV after I install Beta 1.1 + SVA,
Did I need to add the plugin for these file?

Hi,
Thank you for your suggestion. I follow the step. But When I install the VMR9, there is a error that it is not for my language. ( I use WINXP- Traditional Chinese),
Then, I ignore the error and follw the rest of the step.

I go to test the MP and play the avi, rmvb file. It become a black screen and the system is "hang".
and I try play WMV file, it said, "unable to play, Audio Codec : "

Did I do anything wrong?

Without knowing what the error message was it is difficult to say.

Are you able to post the error message? Please include saf install txt file (should be on root of system drive (ie 'C:\') and post your logs (instructions below).

Ok I cant see anything there thats an issue but Im not an expert on SAF. I suggest you post the information above, including SAF logs and any other relevant details HERE

You may also want to fill out the "My System" field in UserCP [above] (especially your video card and driver details) and post MediaPortal logs

WMV are decoded using Microsoft decoders, SAF is not used there.

You can try to use SAF 4.00 beta17, i did some changes here.

Your LOG seems to be OK.

Thanks a lot.
I installed the purecodec and it is now working.

But I just add a Magic Pro USB TV Tuner. And Install the TV server.
And I found there is some error message when I install it. I ignore the error 4 times and then setup the TV engine. And it have a error message.
Did I need some Update on my XP?

The first 4 error messages mean that the file is locked for writing. Did you uninstall the tvserver before doing the re-installation? - If not, that may fix the error. The files which are locked are tuning parameters for Finland and Norway

The last error relates to the dvbfix, which is a requirement for non-MCE versions of XP. More HERE

You should also have all other recent updates installed, ie SP3 and later

I just un-install the system and install the DVBFIX and reinstall again, even the Error for Finland and Norway still there. But I can enter the set up for TV tuner.

I will try to scan for channel tonight and hope it work OK.
