For what it's worth, I wasn't able to get MediaPortal to work, so I tried Easy HDTV and it works perfectly.
Very small footprint, extremely fast download time and it only does exactly what I need it to do which
is let me watch tv on the ATI TV Wonder card.

The problem was caused by the windowsplugin.dll file
I downloaded one that was meant to fix the weather plugin problem, but it had other issues.
Now found another one to try tonight

I would suggest you to wait for RC2, as its not that far away. Not sure if its possible to import settings from old tv engine to the new one. Even if it were possible I would suggest to do a clean install of the tv engine.

Its most probably easier to update to latest svn, rather than muck about with MP1.0RC1, as a lot of changes with the installation will be on RC2 when it comes out to make it clearer\easier.
Uninstall your TVServer, make sure you say NO to removing setting, install TVServer only (no client plugin) from svn download, start the TVServer...

After some messing about trying to sort a problem with TVServer (sorted) I now find that the MP installed on the same box now...
Am I wrong in thinking that this sould not be too hard? The ability to select a skin (inside MP) already exists, as does the ability to select a Home screen (in the config).

Got rid of all the codecs ALL of them, and just installed PDVD8 and Elecarad (sp). Works like a charm, still not sure why the ATI MPEG2 decoder is stuttering like hell, it gives me the best picture in DVBViewer. O well, maybe it will work later. FFDSHOW looks like crap so I uninstalled it, first time...
