this was also my first idea. So I searched the whole HD for MediaPortal.xml. It only found the new xml file and the renamed file. I renamed the file to MediaPortal_old.xml. Could this be the reason ?

As a bit of a last resort, you could try uninstalling the cards both software wise and physically and then reinstall just one and initially use the original driver rather than the BDA. I just received my Nova-S today and downloaded the latest drivers off the hauppauge uk site (Was not able to find anything useful on the US site) and it was recognized only after reinstalling the TV-Server. The driver version from Windows device manager is 2.122.26109.0. Hope this helps

When I go to MyTV I get a "Can't start timeshifting""No free card available" error. I have the tuner setup as a hybrid tuner & I can see the channels when I got to preview from TV Channels in the configuration. I have attached the logs.

Yeah, I had the same issue, and after like 3 hours I noticed the stupid thing. There is a button in the upper right hand corner of the Mediaportal Configuration window that says "Switch to Advanced Settings"
it is under the general menu from there. Good luck!

Question: If you know 64-bit is not (officially) supported, is there a particular reason you are intent on using it? If it's a dedicated HTPC, I would use the best supported platform - that XP-32bit.

Hey thanks for all the help with this, on closer inspection I noticed a jumper on the motherboard and realised that in fact the front usb connectors supported the 5v stby signal, so plugged the mce receiver into one of those and hey presto, now it goes in and out of standby with the power button on the remote.
