You can use the video database within MediaPortal or you can use a spesialised plugin like Moving pictures.
Both will allow you to use more than one location, even on network.
Please read up in the links I provided and decide what you want to use.

MSSQL is designed to be a server, hence it will not let you put the reserved windows localhost in as a name, MP as a client does not have this problem, so can use localhost\127.0.0.1
