K been messing about with it since I got home and set it up to run in window mode, got it to lock up by jumping about the epg screen and selecting random channels, turns out that tv server was stalling, restarting the service brought the client back to life, looking through the log files I noticed that heartbeatmonitor was kicking...

OK, so right to it:
I have PowerDVD8 installed and working
I can watch movies just fine with my setup, which is moving pictures, mediastream, mp, etc.
I have set the autoplay in windows to start powerdvd 8 for my BRD iso images that get inserted via mp.
Obviously this brings the window focus to powerdvd and starts the BRD playback...
OK, so right to it:

Just totally deinstalled MP/TVServer, ran CCleaner, Defraggler and then installed... (dramatic pause) VERSION 1!

This is not normal behaviour, mine are set to use D:\TVRecordings which works fine, so logs needed.
Make sure all cards point to this directory, selectable by the dropdown box, stop then restart TVServer after you have made changes, you should show new path still if you reopen TVServer config, if you cannot change then chances are...
