Just set the DTS and AC3 support to 'disabled' in the FFDShow audio control panel.
In your filter graph FFDShow is in the path after AC3filter, so you might need to disable the 'raw' support as well (bottom of the codec list) if you want to remove it for post-processing as well.

I have just installed MP 1.0.2 onto Vista enterprise. It states that i do not have all the hotfixes for this to run properly. It runs but every 10 secs it freezes.

You should update DX, use this link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=2DA43D38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3&displaylang=en, then all of your DX 9, 10 and 11 will be up to date (Which they aren't).
