Works fine in Meedio and WMP10. Never had a problem. Just seems to be Media Portal. Also doesnt work with WinDVD codecs on my system.
EDIT: After a bit of playing with Meedio.
The NVidia decoders work fine in VMR7, but not in VMR9. This is true on both my old ATI 9700 and my brand new ATI X1800.

try this one on the latest + dual tuner
1. goto TvGuide pick a channel
2. hit record and 'current episode' [recording starts]
3. pick another show currently playing on another channel and hit the record button.
Rather than starting to record on the second chanel. it stops on the first.

My point is that MediaPortal should handle the exception and not crash itself as well.
One other intersting point might be (and is more a feature request) that in case of an html extension (and some others) a webbrowser (probably non visible and captured by the mediaportal) should handle the URL.

When I enter a "wrong" URL as a radiostream and start to listen to the station I get a general MS Windows error and then MP RC4...

You could try to uninstall MP, delete MP folder (or back it up) & then reinstall MP0.2RC4 again.

Changing the keys via the registry for wmp would be the easiest, I only had a cursory look around so they may well be hidden in there somewhere. Would be a simple task for either a straight registry write or use a registry import to set the keys and another to reset them. F12 doesn't seem to do anything else so it works for me at least.

For your first scenario, just add the song to the playlist (assuming that the playlist is empty) and it will start playing automatically.

I testet it with 30, 60 and 90 minutes of buffer. Free Diskspace on Drive "C:" is ~ 25GB and on drive "D:" [where ´the timeshift file should be placed] is ~ 280GB. So this problem should not be related to less disk space :-)
