So I just downloaded the bits of the Win 8 developer preview, and installed it on my media client. Works great, but MediaPortal won't let me install as it is a "Unknown OS Version" - 6.2.8200 I believe... Is there any way that I can edit this search with out a dl of MediaPortal source and...

kazooless: I wouldn't write off MediaPortal because of the skip steps. It is far superior to Media Center in several respects once you have your system setup. Now don't get me wrong, MediaPortal will take time to configure, but that is the beauty of the program. You have SO MUCH more...

Hi Lanceuppercu: That is where I had my problem too. Trying to play any video file would result in an instant hangup, so I think that that file should help you. Good luck!

Don't ask me on that one. All I know is that I did that and it worked! I hope it is fixed before the final 1.1.0 release of MediaPortal, but at least there is a real quick workaround!

Hello! I had this problem when I upgraded to the RC3 version of the skin. I would click on a show, and it would just hang instantly. If this is your problem, the same fix might work. It was talked about a little in the RC3 release thread, and a fix was uploaded by another user, that worked...

I didn't even know that FTR1.5 was out. I would use it, but there is no way I will upgrade to it, if it isn't compatible... Needless to say, without your tool, I would not be using MP. :) Thanks, James
