thanks for the reply. Unfortunately it's not pulling in the epg for some reason. The reason i want to use 4therecord is that i previously used a linux program called tvheadend that was great for scheduling recordings through a web browser and 4therecord seems to be the closest thing to that.

same problem here, does anybody help on these forums? or is mediaportal dying out? i thought mediaportal would have changed since the last time i tried it a few years ago, but seems like nothing has changed. Seems like same buggy program that evens makes a quad core cpu seem slow.

what exactly did you you have to do to switch default tuner to dvb-c? and have you had any other problems? like slow channel changing etc (with mediaportal) thanks
