yeh it is purely thetvdb.com. Nothing to do with MP or MyTVseries plugin. the MP and MyTVseries plugin only retrieves the info from thetvdb.com and when that latter is down, one can not retrieve the data And it is a site most used by other portals such as xmbc etc i wouldn't want to start...

it is actually a codec problem. But imo not due to the codec... If without MP one can play all files with any app (ex. vlc, wmp, mpc, etc) then all codecs are as they should be if when entered in MP, certain files (of certain extensions) will not play, then it is the player inside MP that does...
