Can MediaPortal play movies on a networked server? (2 Viewers)

Indeed... I've got all my media on a single fileserver [Windows 2000 Server] running on my network.
I mapped a copule of network drives on my HTTP to the shares on that fileserver and then pointed MP towards those network drives.
Works like a charm, even with HD [x.264/720p or 1080p] content.

You have to map a network drive to a share on the server and add this to MP setup.

MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback.
