can you provide useful link to a working mencoder?

thanks, it seems to do part of the job.
when I stream I get a notification at the server that there's a message that require my attention... when I click on it it brings me here

[img=http://img686.imageshack.us/img686/7701/mg3078v.th.jpg]

another thing, only direct , divx and mpeg2 are working... all the IPAQ and MPEG4 not.

also MKV's are not working, only tv stream and mpeg/avi videos.

i'm sorry.... but you took this project on you.. so lets make it really useful :)

Mike, Thank you for the custom RC2 build.

I can now access the webservice from the client but get the an error message in VLC when attempting to open the .m3u:

File reading failed:
VLC could not open the file "/Streamer.aspx?idChannel=1146&idProfile=3&sectoken=366A33484A466461477933665A2F6370533336437230466D2F33334C426942692F6341376E53683352722B7044524C6B79584251513177426C62457669433279".
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL '/Streamer.aspx?idChannel=1146&idProfile=3&sectoken=366A33484A466461477933665A2F6370533336437230466D2F33334C426942692F6341376E53683352722B7044524C6B79584251513177426C62457669433279'. Check the log for details.

I've always used direct and havent attempted to transcode from the dedicated tv server. any ideas on what it could be?

Thanks

Dragy

Ow lol, I saw this thread to late. Lets post my version. I have no problems with RC2 with it.

Install MPWebservices_RC3, delete the htdocs folder and copy my files into it :) Worked for me.

Mike Lowrey
What is different with your version from the RC3 version?

//edit
I suggest using Mike's binaries. Just install his build and after that copy all the aspx files + default.aspx.cs from my version :)

AW: Can´t logon: "Server Error in Application"

I've changed the references to the new assemblies and recompiled it + put it into the installer.
And i think i've changed something in the radio section, nothing special...

AW: Re: Can´t logon: "Server Error in Application"

btw, did you succeed running it from a web server?
cause I get get in the interface onlyon LOCALHOST, but when I change to my domain (eg http://mydomain.selfip.com:8080) i dont get any response (and I did open the port on my router)

Same problem here! Others servers work fine except this one! Only accessible via localhost!

Got it to Work WebServices RC3 and MP RC2 with Win 7 64bit (with some issues)

Hello,

after some digging and trying I got it to work, here is how - maybe it helps:
My System:

- Windows 7 64bit
- Mediaportal 1.1.0.0RC2
- MPWebServices RC3
- SQLExpress 2008

1. Had to install Mediaportal RC2 Server _AND_ Client - installing only the server side did not work for me.
2. Manually stopped the TVService
2. Copy the Gentle.config
from "C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server"
to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\Plugins\MPWebServices\htdocs"
3. Copy:
Gentle.Common.dll
Gentle.Framework.dll
Gentle.Provide.MySQL.dll
Gentle.Provider.SQLServer.dll

from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server"
to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\Plugins\MPWebServices\htdocs\bin"

4. Manually start the TvService

I did only try to schedule a recording yet (which seems to work).

NB, I get an error when checking the TvService Status (System.OverflowException: Der Wert für einen Int32 war zu groß oder zu klein. in line 82 of TvServerStatus.aspx.cs) but will check later when I find the sources of MPWebServices.

The Plugin is great so I hope it is not orphaned.

Is GemX still around?

cheers

EST

hm, weird. it can't access the file because its in use by another process... Wonder what that other one is. Can you try excluding the recording folder of all background processes? (f.e. defender/antivirus etc, and maybe (don't know if that is even a thing) from creating thumbnails) Edit: and is it always the second time it succeeds...

I meant use MP client to try to spot how it's requesting streams for specific channels and then try to do the same with VLC. TV Server development looks dead so I'm afraid you're going to have to figure that out by yourself if it's even possible.
