    HI,

It's a security problem on the "C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal" folder. Please ensure that the group "everyone" have write full permissions on this folder.

Do you have MP1 installed on this computer ? If not, it can be a setup issue : we might need to allow the correct group to access this folder.

    Thanks.

you are right with "that i dont have installed Mp1" and that there an installer rule is missing
i have give the current user full access to that folder and it works now

Use of the "Everyone" group is not recommended for security purposes.
The correct group to be using is the 'Users' group which includes a build-in called 'Authenticated Users'. All processes should run as an authenticated user on the system, and therefore be granted access.

If you find it necessary to add the 'Everyone' group to a folder to get MP2 to work then there could be something else is wrong with your machine.

Please re-test with 'Users' instead of 'Everyone'

Indeed McGoober, the Everyone group might not be the best one to use. "Users" should be enough to do the job, and it seems to be as KayDiefenthal can use MP2 with a more restrictive security.

But I mentionned the Everyone group because it's how MP1 "unlock" the folder. Nevertheless, I can confirm that even if the folder already exists because it's created with MP2 setup, if MP1 is installed after it will set the security for the group "Everyone", so there's no compatibility problem if we use the "Users" group for MP2. That was my main concern ;)

I'll add a note to mantis right now.

    Cheers.

Update: Problem solved! The electronic program guides (tvguide.xml) have been successfully transferred to MediaPortal. The issue stemmed from the corruption of one or both of the mc2xml.dat and/or mc2xml.exe files, for an unknown reason. Consequently, even though the tvguide.xml file appeared to be updated, its content kept being an...
