Tried with 1.20, update Bios, revert to older Intel drivers...... Same !

Here you go Seb. It looks like playback actually works for the first time after mediaportal starts. It is on the second and subsequent playback attempts that it fails. You should see that in these logs.

So? Is 1.21 safe? Or is there a roll back regarding this issue? Did you have the time to take a look @Sebastiii ?

Basically, there seems to be a problem with the Intel GPU drivers removing the HDMI audio renderer on refresh rate changes (and if you have no audio renderer playback won't work).

FWIW, i'm using MP 1.21 Final, Windows 7 Ultimate x64, with AMD 5570 GPU with ATI catalysts driver version 13.12 and MP 1.21 DRR chaining is working quite nicely, no issues with audio or video.
Intel GPU hardware and drivers have always been very questionable for HTPC usage, there always seems to be issues.
Prior to using MP, i was a very long term Win 7 MCE HTPC user, but i just became too tired of having to put workarounds in place for such an aging unsupported application.
Since moving to MP, i've been able to back out all workarounds i had in place for Win 7 MCE, and the MP experience is so much better.
I especially like that there are so many config dials and knobs to tweak with.
Also really enjoying the MP 1.21 Final DRR changer.

The automatic refresh rate changeover suddenly stopped working for me. Everything worked perfectly the whole time. I didn't change...
I don't know how others run it or have acquired the zap2xml stuff but the instructions I gave apply to anything. It is one line in the zap2xml.pl script that you need to change.
I run on Linux so I simply run the script itself (and once you change that on the next run it will be fine.) I do not know anything about a Windows...

The only configuration that is certain to work is when the MP client and MP server are from the same release.
It is sometimes possible to use MP clients from a release that is different to the MP server, but whether it works depends on the specific changes that were made between the two releases.
