Hi,

The only thing I can think of is that you have run the Menu Editor and put some character that the xml file doesn't like. But this is only a guess. Can you please attach your basichome.xml so that I can look at it.

Hello mate,

I remember doing as you said re changing the BasicHome Menu but only as it mentioned doing something like that in the install instructions however I didn't change anything but remember clicking generate new menu (or whatever). Do you have a BasicHome.xml I can use. I have deleted this gui 3 or 4 times but always come up against the same problem. I can't understand this as the BasicHome.xml file is within the XFactor skin dir. Thought if I delete it and then reinstall all would be ok.

Hi,

The attatched basichome is valid. I copied it onto my system and tried and it works so the problem must be something else.

Can you try these steps;
1. open the MP configuration and select the blue3wide skin
2. Run MP and see that it works
3. open the MP configuration and select the xfactor skin
4. Run MP and see if it works

i have a Issue with the Menu Selector.If i change the Menustyle and i go back to the Mediaportalmenu he forgot the settings or not save the settings for the favorite Menu and he uses the standart Menustyle verticale with RSS!!!

i have this Issue on all my 3 PC`s!!!

Hi dlarge500,

I need some more info. Can you please do this;
1. Attach all the files in your xfactor folder that has a name starting with "basichome"
2. What operating system do you use
3. What is the path to your skin folder?
4. Do you get the OK message in Menu Selector saying "New menu is selected!"?
5. If you do a file search for basichome.xml does it exist in other folders?

Hi cul8er,

I should have told you that, after the the problems I was having with the XFactor GUI, I switched over to the Blue GUI. I also installed the Xface and PureVision GUI's (both the newest versions. All of these worked fine and fully as expected) (apart from them being made of wood - and - in my humble opinion crap GUIs)).

As I'm sure you will understand, this is very frustrating as I have done nothing unusual in installing this, your XFactor, GUI and I can't go back to the previous version as It not available for download.

PS. All of the above was done before advising you of my difficulties...

Hi,

Can you please try this;
1. Delete the skin/xfactor folder (or move it to another location, if you delete remember to save any images you have put in the animations folder).
2. Download the skin and install it again.
3. Delete the xfactor folder under your cache folder
4. In MP Configuration select the xfactor skin

Hi,

Can you open MP Configuration and disable the xfactor menu selector plugin (not the xfactor plugin) and see if this helps?
