I am also wondering if this would work. I tried renaming the xml output to 'tvguide.xml' and the TV server management console showed that the xml was successfully imported. I checked under Tv channels -> Tv groups -> mapping [tab] and the channels displayed in the left hand column ('Channels') had the channel name details that were loaded into the xml file (I have been trying GBPVR and know the file works there as well). However, when I start up MP there is no information available. I've tried web-epg but it won't import the channel list from the tv server.
I'm using the most recent versions and snapshots as they support my Avermedia m780. I'm using mysql as the database.
Any help getting epg in one way or another here in the US would appreciated (eg I'm not set on using yapi2xml it just seems like it is almost working already and I'm just missing some small piece).

pretty much the only difference between Yapi2XML and YahooXMLTv is that YahooXMLTv uses Go4TV to download the listings. Yapi2XML downloads them directly. The creator of Yapi2XML and I are coordinating to try to keep the output the same in both programs. They are still works in progress but once we finalize the output there should be no difference in the data.

The only way I could get my tv card to work with the MP package was to go with the newer, tv server approach. When I do this I can't seem to get the guide xml handled correctly whether I use yapi or xmltv. I have managed to get the guide imported (actually showing up in MP) a few times but then either the offset is wrong or the tv region is set to the Netherlands for each station and if i go back into the server setup to fix either thing I lose any progress I had made earlier. I really appreciate all of the nice coding that is done in yapi - as far as handling the offset, and the ease of file save location, plus not having to set up go4tv, although yahooxmltv is a very good working solution.

whurlston - I wouldn't mind testing output from either of these apps if an updated version comes out. Someday I may dig into the MP code to see why I'm having such a hard time with the import (I know it has to be something besides the xml). Let me know here or what thread to watch for updates on these two apps.

:D

all the times in both programs are UTC times. The offset in the MP config should be set to 0 and 0. Program times will automatically be adjusted for the timezone setting on your machine.

As for updates, the latest YahooXMLTv can be found at http://www.epgtools.com/gb_devs/Grabbers/YahooXMLTv/

The latest YApi2Xml can be found at http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utility/YApi2XML

There is also MceEpg2XmlTv which can be found at http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utility/MceEpg2XmlTv

All of us involved in the development of the programs are actually GB-PVR users but I check in to this forum as much as possible mainly to help HDHomeRun users, but I came across a couple of threads where people were using and having some difficulty with the epg utilities.

If you are try the latest version of YahooXMLTv, it has an issue with the default XMLTv plugin. The channel ID is no longer using the channel number so it's not getting imported correctly (id is imported as the frequency) and the star rating is not being processed. I don't know if it works with the XMLTv2 plugin but I'm guessing it might.

This thread is as good as any for an unofficial thread for the utils I guess. I'll keep watching it so you can post any questions you have here.

I'm a GB-PVR user too and after getting stuff set up piece by piece I'm perfectly happy with its performance but would just like to try both apps out (kinda bull-headed and don't want to give up on MP now that I started with it).
I understand what you are saying about the offsets and saw how the id doesn't really correspond to the ch. number. I really cannot believe that it is not something I'm doing wrong but I have tried things every which way.

Thanks for your replies. If I have a question about the xml epgs I'll come find you here or on the gbpvr forums.

It was brought to my attention that "name=" no longer works with the new version. It should now be "display-name="

I forgot to document the change.

I wanted to try unsing Yapi2XML with TVServer, but that says it need tvguide.xml and tvguide.dtd. I can find a way around needing to rename yapixml.xml, but where would I come up with .dtd file?

So not 100% sure if this is a MyTVSeries or FanArt issue, but the episode thumbnails always revert to the series default after restart. I eventually came across the TwinHan driver CD that was included with the original product. The CD contains numerous drivers for the different TwinHan tuner models, but the drivers are for Win 2K (32-bit only) and Win XP (32-bit and 64-bit). The drivers install directly on Vista, and the drivers can be installed on Win 7 and Win 10...

Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal. Maybe helpful for someone in the future. Thanks for the...

You need to check the wiki for TVMosaic, you have recordings as source available once TVM is installed. And of course images and music are part of the NET6 version as for NET4. If you have issues with it further infos would be good.
