Internet streaming tv will never be 100% reliable, the infrastructure within the UK is just not sufficient to cope on a day to day basis now or in the near future, to stream to a 32inch or above HDTV, which most people would want in their sitting room.

I think Cello are a brave company, but until the mainstream manufacturers get onboard with this idea, it will have a very slow take up nationally, especially areas with no cable infrastructure and have to rely on BT lines.

I have to agree with you Ray, in particular the speed of the connection. The best I can get is around 700kbs. I'm in a small village and the cables have started to deteriorate and this causes problems. BT have stated that there is just not enough financial return for them to start upgrading the phone lines to the village, so we have to manage with what we've got. I don't think we'll see much improvement with this Broadband tax that is being introduced - the money will get siphoned off to fund something else

I do use the BBC iPlayer a lot, but cannot stream so I just download and watch later. I did try the MP iPlayer plugin, but couldn't get it working properly, so just use the iPlayer it through Firefox.

I do think over time this type of thing will grow. Friends and relatives who have seen my HTPC are very impressed with it and the ease of use, particularly as it works great from the Veris Remote.

Thank you for confirming that U&W works for you. I ended up deleting U&W and rescanning for channels. That fixed the issue.

Got a reply from SD ... "Looks like your last successful download was on 5/23. On 5/24 for some reason we received 194 connections between 10:54 and 11:05 triggering a denial of service attack ban. The logs show it was lifted on 5/25, but I still see the entry in iptables. I reset fail2ban and hopefully you're working again." Weird...

As Alexander Pope said: A little learning is a dangerous thing, and Dr Google explains this as: The quotation warns that superficial knowledge of a subject can make people arrogant or foolish, suggesting one should either learn deeply or not at all. "Superficial", and "arrogant or foolish" would be me  . However... I would...

Fixed, I think. Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this. Last time when I installed the...
