I have an mkv file and it works fine on VCL on a 6 year old laptop but on MP on my PC the movie is jerky every now and then. I ma using the Divx codec for MKV files.
I, too, have problems playing back .mkv's on client machines. Poor playback can be caused by many different elements.
Can you give some more info.
What graphics card are you using and the driver version?
Which codec is being used to play the .mkv (press Shift & 1 during playback for a detailed info screen)?
Which operating system are you using?
Do you have any codec packs (SAF, LAV, Shark) installed?
Is your GPU doing the processing?
If your playback is jerky I would suspect that the codec is not using the GPU for video processing. With the problems I have had I downloaded 'nVidia Inspector' >>here<< This enabled me to see what the GPU was doing when different video formats were being played back in MP. Obviously you would have to run nVidia Inspector and your problem video file on MP, at the same time, so you can see what Inspector is reporting - just don't run MP in fullscreen mode (Alt+Enter to switch modes). This helps to narrow down any codec/GPU problems as Inspector should show how much GPU processing power is being used - if it is zero, then the codec is not doing what it should do.
It may seem strange, but the open-source license allows anyone to sell physical CDs or DVDs to customers, provided that, for example, the source code is made available upon request and additional value is provided, such as an installation manual. Both of these are mentioned in the product description, so it appears to be legitimate...

I just recently started using your software and I noticed on eBay one person is selling it for about $16.00. You can make a claim...
Fixed, I think.
Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this.
Last time when I installed the...

Those signal numbers look fine. (y)
Unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions as to the possible cause of your problem. :(
