Mediaportal with uncommitted Disceq (1 Viewer)

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I am not sure what the difference between an "uncommitted" and a "committed" DISCEQ is.

A couple of years ago I tried (unsuccessfully) to get my fathers MP HTPC to work with a simple A/B DISCEQ through a Compro S350 tuner card. But gave up in the end.

He now also has a BG3590 Tuner card. Will this new BGT card command DISCEQ switching natively, or by the use of this new patch?

With committed commands you're able to switch between four inputs. With uncommitted it is 16.

Please see our supported card list. DiSEqC switching is not currently supported on either of those cards, and this patch doesn't extend DiSEqC support either (the thread name is not particularly intuitive). I have code that makes DiSEqC work on both Blackgold and Compro cards, but I don't want to release it until at least 1.2.0 final is out. It may not even make it into 1.3.0 the way things are going - just too much to do and not enough time.

Thanks for the information, I will keep an eye on this thread to see when your patch is released. It is not a major issue and since it is for my Father rather than me it isn't urgent

I'm good, i hope you are good also. Thank you for your afford. I'm now using 1.2.0 RC. And i clearly tell you guys did a Great job in Tv section. My previously version was 1.1.2 and MP was crashing too often due to Tv section. But now it is really stable. I just want to thank to all team one more time.

Hi MM,

Hope you are doing well. I actually installed the last patch for 1.2rc after upgrading to 1.2 Final and the patch seems to work fine, however my TV Server plugins now are all showing as incompatible with 1.2 (Comskip,XmlTV,PowerScheduler, etc). Is this because we need an updated patch for 1.2 Final? Thanks.

It is possible my patch is causing this. If you can afford to wait until Monday then that would save me some work - we'll be releasing 1.2.1 to fix a couple of problems that have been discovered in the last week.

Not a problem at all my friend. I still can tune to channels so, its not a big deal until you can do what is best for you. I appreciate you making this custom patch for us. Have a good weekend.
