I found a work around for this bug. Seems mediaportal now detects changes to tvguide.xml and starts its own import of that data into its database. Seems tvguidesheduler.exe does the same, so when the task ran, mediaportal started its own import creating problems in the database file and leading to the leak from mediaporta, exe and tvguidescheduler.exe both trying to do the same thing at the same time.
Under the xmltv settings, I changed the grabber from tv_grab_na_dd to tvguide.xml. Then I created a batch file that does the actual xmltv grab and added that as a scheduled task. Then removed the regular mediaportal tvguidesheduler.exe sheduled task. This solved the problem for me until there is a fix.
Also, just running the from "setup mediaportal" without running MP at the same time works fine.
When I first saw this bug, MP had tried to grab the TV schedule for 20hours. The PC was using 2.6GB, and was getting extremely overworked.
By the way, I just installed the 020206 CVS, and the problem is still here.
I've just encountered this bug on 020206 CVS as well.
I was so pleased to see my other bugs had been fixed (timeshift tv failing when opening tv guide, and missing artist and album names in music). Fantastic work on those by the way Dev Team!
Then I woke up this morning to find the machine not responding - needed a reset. I'll give jefbur's workaround a try later.
Does that mean I can just get today's CVS SnapShot?
Snapshot is 1am as opposed to the 10:06pm change, so that looks like it should be ok (assuming the same time zone). Just thought I'd ask to make sure...
Just those I attached.
I messed about with task priorities MP/TV-Server/SQL-Server and the issue changed to the skin.. I would do something, but it would be 10's of seconds before the action happened. Doing an Alt-Tab would flush the actions. Too weird lol!!
So, with some flak from the family, I had to give in. I just did a...

Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal.
Maybe helpful for someone in the future. Thanks for the...

I have recently updated from MP 1.30 to 1.31 on a Win 11 PC slightly different to your software set up but given Win 10 is still supported I doubt there are many major differences regarding the ".NET Runtime Optimization Service". On my setup I am not seeing any significant CPU usuage MP takes around 3% and the TV Service is...
