I am trying to configure the latest Matrix Orbital GX. When I click "Test", I am getting "Failed to locate assembly 'log4net, version 1.2.10.0...." error message. My log4net.dll is 1.2.9.0. When I replace the dll with 1.2.10.0, I am getting "Failed to locate assembly 'log4net, version 1.2.9.0...."

    Please help.

    Hello,

I have a problem with my imon vfd and mediaportal. The display only updates every 4-5 seconds. No matter what driver version or settings in the minidisplay plugin I try it never gets less.

Currently i'm using xp sp3, but also tried Vista and there it was even worse 9sec. When i test it in the configuration it reacts fast. Looking at the mediaportal log it looks like its the sending itself goes fast enough, it just only sends every 4-5 sec.

Any clues what is going on?

    MediaPortal Version : 1.0.0.0
Minidisplay version : Soundgraph Imon USB VFD/LCD V12_01_2008
    Operating System : XP SP3
Imon Display Model : Imon OEM (VFD)
    Connection kind : USB
    OEM Type : A
    Firmware : 0x3601
    IMon Manager Version : 7.20

    Hi again,

after a repeated reinstallation of windows and media portal, the display now works fine for me. Don't know where exactly the problem was located.

You have to be aware that the iMon vfd (plugged to a usb port) has some major USB compatibility problems. If you try, for instance to plug a usb gamepad, you will see in that in device manager that your computer becomes jerky, that your gamepad behaves erratically, etc... Just on account of the presence of the iMon VFD.
I would suspect that your problems of both of you is related to this issue.

I solved it partially by plugging my iMon USB on a USB port rather than on an other, then having a different order for my usb devices in the usb port hierarchy. You have to find the good order or combination.

I agree with you, it is a real pain but I do not think that the minidisplay development team could solve that. :sorry:

    Thanks for the response,

I actually allready tried that a bit, but unfortunatly no improvement yet. I'm thinking of doing a reinstall of Vista (not because of this but for other reasons), hopefully I get lucky :)

    Minidisplay commands

I'd like to use MiniDisplay feature, but before grab an LCD module, I want to test, how far I can go with it.
Using first the embedded Debug display. As I saw there is graphical and non graphical mode, which is good for VFD or LCD module users.

My question is, where or how can I find out, which commands, and formatting options used by minidisplay plugin to configure manually in xml file? I'd like to use CPU usage, Memory usage parameters, or any MMC variable, progress bar with graphic, and so on... It's depends only on XML config as I saw...

The plugin much better, than some people thinks, and can more usable with detailed docs. Thanks! :)

Using the Scaleo EV driver (the only one which has ever worked for me) in the newest SVN still causes exceptions on starting MP (see attached logs).
MP got as far as displaying the skin, but never closed the splash window and had to be killed.
What hope is there of getting mini-display working with Scaleo E?

this plugin works fine for me (using the LIS driver)
however I wanted to customize it a bit and have had problems doing so.
for example at idle it says "media portal" on the top line and then the Time below it.
so i go into the editor and i changed the 1st line to be a property and i put in #temp and #condition
    restart
only the 2nd line (time) displays
so i try again with just the #condition and it works.
so i try again with just the #temp and it doesnt work
to i try again with #date - so the date would be on the top line and the time would be on the 2nd
when i do this, neither the top or the bottom line display.

it appears only certain property items display.. any idea why?

    Thanks!

I (and many others) have the problem that with current Imon soft (imon Manager) + hardware (RM200 Remote), the option
"force keyboard" mode doesnt work. Unfortunately this option is crucial for operation of the mediaportal, otherwise on every
restart (even from standby mode) one has to manually enable keyboard mode, whis is a royal pain in the a... and the waf of
    this is very low.

So maybe some kind soul can fix this option to work again with the current hardware of imon.
