MyFilms New version v4.0 (1 Viewer)

Sorry for my english.

I make a new install of media portal this day with MP 0.2.2.0 and the ultimate SVN.

I use also The Tv3 engine. After the configuration of Myfilms pluging, i save, i quit . if in this moment without go out of media portal setup i go to the configuration of the plugin i have my configursation but if i go out medisa portal setup with ok, and i go in imediatly to media portal setup I not have more the configuration. It is empty.

Any Idea.

i appear to have a similar problem. in addition to that the plugin tells me (withinMP) that theres no antXML found. It's not even possible to leave the window after that.

As stated above my configuration is empty afterwards..

do you need some logs?

The related christian problem was corrected by re-installing version 3.1 and after the 4.0 ;-)
I don't know why but you can try it.... something wrong with latest SVNs install ???

Wonderful plugin. One question though. Would it be possible to have the view be thumbnails of the cover art instead of just a list? Something like this: http://img140.imageshack.us/my.php?image=videoseg8.jpg

Maybe it is already possible and I just missed it.

fantastic. something weird is happening to me - I enabled the plugin and everything,but it doesnt show up. I am using the Replicant SVN skin, with teh latest SVN.

The actual delivered dll doesn't work with latest SVN so return to the previous version or wait the new version coming soon ;-)

I use my computer primarily as a jukebox for my dvds - I have them saved in file format on external hard drives. They consist of A folder holding the movie, followed by a ts folder that holds all the separate movie files. When I use My Films, it always asks me to insert a dvd. Is there ANY way I can use this program to apply my ANT database to my move files on the hard drive AND play them from the plugin? A response would be greatly appreciated. I can get them to play from Shares in the My Video section, but I would like the details that your plugin could supply. Thank you.

You have to give the ANT database's field used for storing the file name info (Ant Item for Storage File Info) and of course give the right information for each movie in that corresponding item.
For example :
If you choose the URL field of your database for storing that info, in the plugin setup put 'URL' as 'Ant Item for Storage File Info' and in your ANT database for each movie having files stored on HD, in the URL field put the filename information. Ex :
Y:\SAVING_GRACE\VIDEO_TS\VTS_11_0.IFO

I too am very interested in using this to play dvds which I have stored in directories on my HD. I am using DVDProfiler 3.0.3 to manage my collection, latest svn of media portal and My Films 4.2.4. I am having some problems getting things going, and was hoping for some insights...

1) Launching from the HD seems to require putting a partial path in one of the database fields chosen in the configuration program. I don't see where these come from in DVDProfiler - the discs/disc/location or discs/disc/slot tags seem like the logical choices to me, but as it stands, I see no way to get the information in to "my films". Argh, actually now that I look at it, it seems location is limited to 30 characters and slot is limited to 10, so it would not be sufficient for "SAVING_GRACE\VIDEO_TS\VTS_11_0.IFO"

2) box images do not seem to make it. I do not see anything obvious in the dvdprofiler xml that has the information, so maybe i isn't possible...that would be a show stopper... do you think there is any method that can make this work?

3) (enhancement) it would be nice to be able to use the <SortTitle> tag (it eliminates beginning words like "The" and "A".

4) (enhancement) if I understand how the paths to files SHOULD work, it checks the "ant item for storage file info" locations below each of the "Paths for Movies File Search" directories. It would be nice if it could automatically try appending "\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO". For that matter, it might be nice if I would be able to use "SortTitle" as the storage file name, and it would automatically append the rest - that would take all the manual steps out of data entry, as long as one was careful naming directories.

5) (enhancement) It would be nice if we could use the DVDProfiler tag "<Tags>" like a genre... it is the main customizable categorization for each movie. It looks like

<Tag Name="Favorite" FullName="Favorite"/>
</Tags>


I am really excited by this solution if I can get it to work. It will be a large step ahead of the mp built in movie database!
