I thought that both DTS and DD are encoded in a stereo stream and can be decoded in 5.1 or whatever is in there.
But if a Pi can't give me any sound at all it is no option to me, since I encode many movies only with a DD or DTS stream and no alternative mp3 stream.

So i have a Pi at home now!

My main Problem is that i don't get Audio via HDMI.
My Second Problem - Live TV is Loading Showing my Records from MePo but not Starting it and its is not Loading the TV and Radio List.

I have tried Raspbmc and XBIAN.

So after some Settings in the config.txt File I have Sound now.
The Live TV Plugin for MediaProtal is still faulty,
but via SMB i have access to all my Recorded Movies.

HD Movies are buffering to often - hope with a faster WLAN-N i can compensate.
SD Movies have Sound but no Video - i think ordering the MEPG2 Codec Licence will solve this.
Radio is solved via the Radio Plugin for Music, so nearly everything is working

No, that's not the case. What you mean is Dolby Surround which is inside a normal Stereo Stream. But Dolby Digital and DTS are pure 5.1 or 7.1 Audio streams.
Here is a quote of OpenElec FAQ site regarding Pi:

WMV (without licence), DIVX3, or MPEG2 (without licence). The RPi cannot decode DTS and AC3 because of the overhead, it is recommended that you use a passthrough device with these files.

HI there,

i also try to implement my pi as a MePo client. I spend a lot of time in it already. What i found out so far:

There is a big bug inside the omxplayer. The omxplayer is used to view live tv on the pi.
I have tried serval distros for the pi (i.e. raspbmc / openelec) with all the same problem -> live tv is not possible on the pi.
Everytime you want to start live tv, the pi leaks its memory and kills xmbc!

This problem has been confirmed in many other forums and is known.
So NO LIVE TV right now

AmpDroid is a great tool but it is not useable as a MePo replacement. There are a lot of functions missing (i.e. bad EPG browsing, no EPG search, no advanced recording programming).

I dont know when or even if the XBMC team is going to fix the problem with the omxplayer...... they seemed to be occupied with the xbmc android port.

Also i dont know anything about a adroid OS for the pi.

Don´t get this wrong now but the weakest point of the MePo is its missing compatibility to other OS or mediaplayers. Maybe it will become open to this some time.

For true extend-ability you'll have to wait for MP2 which will have inbuilt DLNA/uPNP

For sure? Give me more input pls.

Which distro? HD Channels? Direct rtps stream or tsreader? Are you using the xbmc tvserver plugin by margro? Which omxplayer version?

As far as i understand the problem with the rpi, it´s seems that not all versions of omxplayer are bugged.

But i´m realy woundering that it is working for you.............
