record to MPEG-4 not MPEG-2 TS (2 Viewers)

Hello.

This was my plan

record channels with mediaportal to a folder then use wowza and beenius to stream to a set top box.

Can I use mediaportal server to record channels in a MPEG-4 format

No (assuming you mean an MPEG-4 container format of some type), it can only record to an MPEG-2 transport stream container file.
