Recently tried XBMC and must say the aeon mq3 skin really is georgeous, except the music views, Mr V's are better in streamedmp. Other than the skinning engine xbmc is far behind MP though.
The skin is nice on XMBC but all I can get it to do in the shelf view is to display a thumbnail of each film rather than a front cover.
The shelf view would be lovely in a MP skin.

Could be just me but i found xbmc and the aeon skin to handle artwork pretty badly, was very hit & miss

I was trying to make some changes to my files, gave up in the end though as it was over my head. Might be somehing in there that may get you started. If you want it as an extra view I guess you'd need to create new files as well as edit others, probably best to start by modifying the filmstrip view as thats the closest. Depends on your skinning knowledge I guess. Mine is zero.

I was just tinkering with a few settings in the MediaPortal configuration and am happy to have found the cause of the problem.

maybe setting loglevel to debug might pinpoint the difference between normal and stuck?
Preferable with as much disabled as possible
also try to see if anything is happening during stuck for the mediaportal process(resource monitor, disk activity, cpu usage, anything)

MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback.
