I've got that one and I am completely happy with it. It replaced a hauppauge card i used before and all my problems are gone. Also no problems with resuming from standby (s3), didn't try s4 but guess it'll do to.

Terratec Cinergy T PCIe Dual works with 2 live-tv channels in the same time? 2 channels on differents transponders?
with mediaportal, dvbviewer, dvblink+mediacenter?

stability is good? no discontinuties, no graph to slow, no image freeze?

thank you.

I don't quite know if that are really questions, but if you ask if that card works with two different channels on two different transponders without any instibility then I can say: yes!
Though I only know that in combination with MP, never used any other program to watch tv.

Hello!

I also plan to buy this for my first HTPC. Not a lot of dual DVB-C cards to choose from however, but this is the only one sold by local shops.

But, something a bit weird with this card. Is this a HD card? (Or every DVB cards are HD?) Because on its official page and in data sheets there's nothing about HD mentioned.
Which resolution can this handle: watch/record?
The given remote works with MP? Fully controllable? (I mean can I spare to by a Logi Harmony or anything else?)

And thanks for the previous infos. It's good to hear, there's no problems from resuming.

There's a single C tuner (Cinergy C PCI HD) on T's page. It has HD in it's name. Does this mean that this Dual is not HD? Not support FullHD view/rec/H.264/MPEG4?

AW: Terratec Cinergy T PCIe Dual

I can't tell you much about that. HD is sent in MPEG4 while SD is sent in MPEG2, I am not quite sure if the TV card needs to be able to decode that or your tv card. But for sure I can tell you that at the moment there are no two different delivering systems for DVB-C as there for satellite with DVB-S and DVB-S2.

Never tried the remote and can't tell you about that one.

Yes, you can record and watch all channels on two transponders/MUX:es when using a dual tuner..

You cannot tune 3 transponders at the same time with only 2 tuners (doh..) ;)

Thanks, MrCrabs for the answer.

I hope it can record SD at 785×576 / HD at 1980x1080.

Does anyone use this card in a PCIe x16 slot? It should work, but who knows... (remote controlled mITX case is lot cheaper)

    Hi and welcome Arena :)

HD channel support is not usually dependent on the TV card - any DVB-C tuner can receive 1920x1080 video streams *as long as they are DVB-C broadcasts*. In other words, the TV tuner does not have to decode h.264 or MPEG 2 video. The confusion is possibly caused by satellite and terrestrial tuners where HD channels are usually transmitted using DVB-S2 and DVB-T2. Regular DVB-S and DVB-T tuners can't receive DVB-S2 or DVB-T2 signals.

Regarding the PCIe x16 slot: it *might* work. I put x1 cards in x16 slots in my Shuttle test PCs and they work, however there is a limitation: I have to use VGA video output instead of DVI. For some reason Intel chipsets have a limitation that non-video cards in a x16 slot prevent the digital onboard graphics output from working.

I meant use MP client to try to spot how it's requesting streams for specific channels and then try to do the same with VLC. TV Server development looks dead so I'm afraid you're going to have to figure that out by yourself if it's even possible.

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback. If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo. I have...
