AW: Terratec Cinergy T PCIe Dual

    Hi,
I've just bought the card a few days ago because there was just one slot left on my board.
Changing channels is really fast and the quality is great for hd channels as well as sd.

I can really recommend it and using it with Mepo takes me 5 minutes (just mapping the channels from the already existing card to the Terratec).

    But:
It is a Dual Tuner only for DVB-T. I first thought this will also work with DVB-C but this was a missunderstanding from there ambiguous specification. With DVB-C you've just got one tuner and not a "dual" one.

Thanks MM for welcoming and the nice answer!

As you can see I'm not a profession at digital media. I used an analog tuner long time ago, and it was HW dependent which resolution it can record (I think).
As for the PCIe x16: I think I rather buy a mATX mobo instead of mITX, so I will have a PCIe x1 for the card!

    It's not a dual C tuner?!
Oh, my... your post worth a fortune! I need a dual C tuner, than this means I have no other choice left but DD Cine V6. Buying 2 Terra would be more expensive I think.

    Girls and guys thank you!

Thanks items for the suggestion. I still rather choose DD, it looks better for me. It's very, very expensive indeed...

The best tuner i ever seen was from digital devices, but prices are 130-170 euros for dvb-c tuners.
DD Cine V6 is best money can buy.
Some users report problems with TBS tuners.

Are you sure that this Terratec is not dual on dvb-c? Because terratec told me so.

It somehow sound weird anyways that the card can tune on two DVB-T tuners bu not on DVB-C...should make no difference from the technical perspextive.

Yes I am. I've installed the driver and there's just one DVB-C Tuner to be selected but two DVB-T. Thats also what Terratec told me when I asked them about that.

Ok, I finally bought this card. I also confirm that it has 2x DVB-T and 1x DVB-C tuner.
Not worth to use the CD, because it has an older driver on it, which does not support the DVB-C tuner, so download the latest!

I was able to record all TV stations on one transponder frequency! And watch one of them of course! This is good news. I think I'll buy another one or a C PCI HD.

I meant use MP client to try to spot how it's requesting streams for specific channels and then try to do the same with VLC. TV Server development looks dead so I'm afraid you're going to have to figure that out by yourself if it's even possible.

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback. If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo. I have...
