wohooo, I am very exited - I can't test it right now (not at home), but had a quick look in the package - it seems, that two xmls (...dialograting and ..._visible) are not part of the package. Won't be a problem on "updateinstalls", but might be with new installs.
Will try tonight when back home and give more feedback, thanks!

I have seen adapted StreamedMP files somewhere - I think in the "streamedMP-mod-thread", but did not test myself yet.

Those 2 files aren't used anymore for the B3 Skins. May be for other skins but not sure.

Zebons, that is sooooooo cooooool )))) - you made my day!!!

Existing Actors & Directors works perfect fine - could you please also add the search by Producer in the same logic - so all involved persons are covered? That is a fantastic function for searching in bigger DBs.

While doing tests in the "Search-area" with this new fantastic (!) "intelligent person search" I have two more things, that would be really great and big added value for this already great plugin (I hope, I am not too demanding to you ..., I try to stay close to the logic the plugin currently has...):

1.) Add "Global Search" as "hardcoded search" to the Search menu:
As the first two searchitems (movies, actors) are already hardcoded, this one could also be hardcoded and should work as follows:
- Choose "search" - "Global Search"
- Open Dialog to enter Searchstring
- Search all DB-fields for the search string
- present the user a dialog with the findings (as the "choose function for "person" in personrelated movies), 1 line with number of items found per property
- let the user choose what to display
- go to the "corresponding searchresultview" with selection property/filterargument

Example:
Doing a "Global Search" for "Einstein" could find 3 movies in "actors", 3 movies in "description", etc. - very good use on e.g. documentarys etc.

2.) Add "Search related movies by Properties":
This is very similar to the "Moviesearch by involved persons", but more common to all the rest. Could be also hardcoded, because no configuration is necessary and thus no Skinchanges. It would work as follows:
- Choose "Search" - "Search related movies by Properties"
- Open Dialog to choose the property you want to search related movies for (e.g. resolution, rating, year, category, etc.)
- Let the user choose the property he wants to find movies related to current selected movie
- if the property contains several strings, seperate them in a list (e.g. Country: "France", "Germany") and count the findings in the DB
- present the user a dialog with the findings 1 line with number of items found per string in the choosen property
- let the user choose what to display
- go to the corresponding "searchresultview" with selection property/filterargument
This gives the user a general approach to find similar movies in any manner, be it resolution, year, whatever.
It does NOT replace the personsearch, that has this great ability to find related movies in 3 properties (actors, producers, directors), not only one.
You probably can reuse most part of the code for "personrelated search" with very little change ;-)


So the resulting Search menu for MyFIlms would be like this:

- Global Search (hardcoded)
- Search Movie (hardcoded)
- Search Actor (hardcoded)
- Search "AntSearchItem1 (supplementary Search)
- Search "AntSearchItem2 (supplementary Search)
- Search related movies by persons (hardcoded)
- Search related movies by properties (hardcoded)

What do you think?

The only disadvantage in my opinion: People spend more time browsing their movieDB than watching the movies with such fine functions ;-)

I have also adapted the "Toggle" options strings - much better to understand, thanks for the update! .

One question: You always display "true" or "false" for the status - is it possible to use languagespecific strings for the status also? (e.g. "on"/"off", "ein"/"aus")

Have to go back to work, will do more tonight ;-)

I think the releases in this thread can be considered to be "test-versions" - but I think we're close to an official new version - skinupdate can and should then be done for the "released version". Last 4.8.0c version was unchanged for over a year, so I am very thankful to Zebons for the polishing he does and hope we'll get a very nice version released soon "valid for the next year" ;-)

btw: The Search-Changes didn't require any Skinchanges, just update to language file.

while testing the "delete movie from DB" option in MesFilmsDetails I found 2 small issues:

- The dialog that is asking for "are you sure" should show the stringID #433 from MyFilms - but it does show the stringID 433 from global strings_de.xml of mediaportal itself.
- When deleting the last movie in the DB, the plugin freezes and after 1-2 minutes mediaportal crashes (not an important one, cause usually noone should delete the last movie in his/her DB, just wanted to let you know...)
