please upload screenshots for all these cases you found unreadable.
Vasilich, I and others have already uploaded quite a lot of screen shots.

However, with respect to testing you guys need to verify fonts on a big screen from several meters distance. There is a big difference looking at a 17" LCD monitor with 60 cm distance or a 55" plasma from 5 m and screen shots cannot adequately demonstrate the observed issues. Nevertheless I trust that you will now see lots of screenshots posted in this thread.

Hi, new to MediaPortal and to forum, so apologies in advance for probable dumb post, but in the following picture....

am I supposed to be able to do anything with the blue box ? It appears when I click in the TV box, but the instant I move the mouse it disappears and I can't click on TV or Recordings or TV Guide or anything. If its supposed to do this then fine, otherwise I presume its a bug. Thanks. (MP 1.3 clean install on Win7 64 machine).

@rb99 Titan is a beta skin, and the mouse support is very sketchy and has lots of yet to be fixed mouse bugs. I suggest you use keyboard/remote only with titan or if you want to use mouse with mepo then change to a different skin.

Mediaportal is like Windows 8; it's not disigned to use with keyboard and mouse. ;) But like said, it will be better in the future.. May I ask why you should control MP with a mouse??? Using a remote is working a lot easier!

If I may respond, to me the difference is similar to the difference in using a command line vs a GUI. Instead of remembering what each key does in different situations, a mouse gives direct access to the function. Especially in the case of lists (in dialogs and in windows, both text and images), you can select directly.

In many cases, MP provides scroll bars to quickly move to a different portion of the list. (You must enable mouse enhancement in the config.)

The on-screen keyboard is almost easy to use. Easier than a remote, for sure.

With a mouse, you never have to look at it, either. :) You can operate it in complete darkness.

The only difficulty I ever have is the meaning of |< and >| on the topbar (which also must be enabled). I always edit the topbar.xml file to use actions 20 and 21 instead of 14 and 15 -- this gives very convenient access to the skip forward and backward functions. (I've been meaning to ask somebody (Catavolt?) why 14 and 15 are used and what they are supposed to do. For me, they do nothing.)

A mouse does require a relatively smooth surface. My leather chair's arms work quite nicely, but fuzzy upholstery does not.

MP is mostly designed with a remote control in mind, keyboard + mouse support is auxillary
As far as I know, Catvolt's skins (Purevision HD series in particular) are the only ones to implement the mouse support completely. I think there are no functions unavailable, but there might be some that I'm not aware of. His skins work equally well in 1.2.3 and 1.3.x. I'm not sure about earlier MP versions.

He also developed Default and Default Wide, but I don't know whether they fully support the mouse.

The only configuration that is certain to work is when the MP client and MP server are from the same release. It is sometimes possible to use MP clients from a release that is different to the MP server, but whether it works depends on the specific changes that were made between the two releases. -- from CyberSimian in the UK

I do not know why this xml was in my theme folders, it must have sneaked in some time ago (years?). I simply removed the file. The Latest Media Handler plugin seems to be working as expected. I've had no lock-ups.
