@Pat Clark: Mediaportal is not designed for desktop pc's, but for HTPC's that are connected to a (big) television. With that in mind it's a lot easier to scroll with a remote control from your couch, than using a mouse. Are you serious using a mouse from you couch to control Mediaportal? I can't believe that that is easier than using a remote control. Even not if the skin that you're using is optimized for using a mouse.. And I really don't need to check my remote control before I press a button.. I'm almost only using the joystick on it to scroll through lists.

But everyone has their own taste! :)

I used to use a mouse too with MediaPortal. But that was several years ago. If I had to start using a mouse with it again, I'd rather just use my Bluray player instead.

Mediaportal is like Windows 8; it's not disigned to use with keyboard and mouse. ;) But like said, it will be better in the future.. May I ask why you should control MP with a mouse??? Using a remote is working a lot easier!

    By the Way:
Mouse Control is essential for Touch Screens:
I am using MP with a Touch Screen and that doesn't work without Buttons and scrollbars...

    To the skin authors:

The repository still shows version 215 for download, however, the thread refers to version 226. Could you please upload 226 so that we can all evaluate the same version?

    Thx, Htpc _Sourcer

Update 226 is currently only available via patch within MP (update icon on BasicHome).

Unfortunately MP crashes with a .NET error when i try to update this way. Any reason for not making it available via direct download?

EDIT: sorry, it's not a .NET error. Manual install of 226 worked, yet MP extension installer still shows 215 as the active version.

Hi, new to MediaPortal and to forum, so apologies in advance for probable dumb post, but in the following picture....

am I supposed to be able to do anything with the blue box ? It appears when I click in the TV box, but the instant I move the mouse it disappears and I can't click on TV or Recordings or TV Guide or anything. If its supposed to do this then fine, otherwise I presume its a bug. Thanks. (MP 1.3 clean install on Win7 64 machine).

Hi, for my part, I'm simply using a mouse because I'm new to MediaPortal (the professional Titan skin attracting new users thing seems to be working...) and I'm checking it out on my PC. Got too start somewhere and I guess it should work just about as well with mouse and/or keyboard and/or remote.

well, i mostly meant screenshots for things like "light text on white background"
    OK, here we go:

    TV OSD menu: 09-39-14.png
Non-selected entries show as light grey on semi-transparent white. This combination is barely visible on my TV when watching at daylight from a few meters distance.

    TV EPG: 18-52-05.png
Timeline shows as black on dark blue background. The 21.00 at the extreme right is not easily distinguishable from the lightening blue when watching from distance.

    TV mini-EPG: 19-38-32.png
Currently watched TV programme looks almost the same as non-watched. Distinction can only be made by the orange dot. Why not chose somehting really different for the active progrmme, e.g. green or the same orange as the button.

    TV recordings: 10-11-54.png
Already watched TV recordings and unwatched should have reversed coloring.
More important, however, is the fact that neither watched now unwatched can easily be seen on my large plasma. The contrast against the black background is not sufficient. Compare to the bright white of the text - that's a really good contrast. I suggest to increae brightness of both fonts of watched/unwatched recordings.

It's all minor stuff in an otherwise awesome result !

    Regars,

If you can keep this up and running then I'm ready to add the theme back. But I do not see much difference with my theme in appearance.

I have not experienced that myself, and I don't know of any reason why that might occur (but my knowledge of how TV Server works is not extensive). It is strange that you mention this because there are now four DVB-T channels in the UK that behave in the same way (this is new for the UK). I think that these might be some sort of...
