    If you file a bug report on the issue tracker along with debug log files I will take a look. In the meantime you should be able to quickly repopulate the "sort by" field of all your movies in the Movie Manager. Just click the gear toolbar icon, click "Update Sorting" then click "Title". This should work around the problem until I can track down and resolve the bug.

    Again though, it would be a great help if you could file a bug report with debug log files from when you are importing a movie.

    EDIT: I think Issue #874 may be the same issue. Read the description and if it is the same, add your feedback and I will get a fix scheduled (otherwise file a new issue and I will schedule that).

    As fforde mentioned this is indeed due to that issues, which boils down to the fact that the imdb.com scraper in the search node finds the akas.imdb.com English title, but on details node where the scraper actually gets all the other information (after approval in importer), you end up with the new imdb system. It is on auto-approved movies that you see a flash on the English title being switched to German. Imdb.com in their stoopid wisdom they decided that if they detect you are in Germany and an German title is available, to provide you with that one, instead of the English title.

    This is why you will see a mixture of English and German titles, because not every movie has a German title entry at imdb.com, though for any new movie that is going to be harder to find.

    You can wait for a solution on the imdb.com scraper, you can switch to the themoviedb scraper, or you can grab the IMDb+ scraper as per my signature link. With the latter you have more options available to you as well, but that's a choice you'll have to make for yourself. The IMDb+ scraper even allows you to retain German titles on German produced movies, such as for:

    Der Untergang (2004) - IMDb

    That one will then show up as "Der Untergang" in your collection, instead of "Downfall". If you need help configuring the IMDb+ scraper to work like this for you and act the same as the imdb.com scraper (it uses RottenTomatoes rating by default otherwise), then just let me know in the thread for the scraper, and I'll help you there.

    I think you are confused RoChess. He is retrieving details in German which the IMDb script does not provide. I can not speak for your IMDb+ script but to my knowledge there is no problem with the official IMDb script. If you want to talk about this more hit me up in IRC, I would rather not derail this thread.

    Re: AW: Titles in german but title sorting happens in english?

    @RoChess
    thanks but i wanna have also all details in german when possible / available ;-) So IMDB+ doesn't seem to be an option to me.

    No problem, you didn't mention what scraper you normally use, so I went with the default imdb.com one. What you can do to fix your problem (until the issue is properly solved) is modify the scraper you do use and add:

    <set name="movie.sortby" value='' />

    to the details action node. Or let me know otherwise what scraper you use, so I can perhaps fix the search node for a proper solution.

    That must be the scraper from the other thread then, as in "IMDb.de with OFDB Summary 1.6.xml", which indeed relies on The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) to get the majority of the information from. The same title vs original-title problem exists then as it does on imdb.com. Unfortunatly there is no akas.imdb.de subdomain to bypass the problem, so it either will take extensive coding in the search node from arneman, or clearing of sortby field in details node as a temporary solution.

    Thanks, but could you please add some debug log files from when you reproduced the issue as well?

    Already stated this in the Thread regarding that scraper because i have problems with some Asian Movies that they wont get added with the commonly known german title but the asian ones.

    Wouldn't it be possible to get the Movie title also from the ofdb just like the description, wouldnt that bypass the problem?
