Todo list for MP development (3 Viewers)

Yeah, the tree could quickly become too large for people to process. I do like that it can quickly show how things are ordered though (Music Database work as a subproject of the Music Engine).

My wiki experience is a bit lacking, but I suppose there is no time like the present to figure it out... Second try coming soon.


Did anyone else notice the "TV-Engine 0.3 Manual" in the wiki? How exciting.

Eh? What should be the use of this (not nearly complete) list? It even has errors in it! Could you please mark it as your own list? External devs start to think that this is a team's project list and got shocked & distracted by it. Thanks!

If there would be such an official list, it would be linked on our homepage. Everything like this not being published by our project manager does not reflect the current MP state.

@marshall: Sadly it´s true what mpod says.
Just wanted to say, I know you only wanted to help and did it with best intentions. Personally, I am a supporter of an official todo list or development path.

Yes, I knew it was incomplete and people were missing, and all that. I believed it was clearly stated that this was an incomplete first concept, more to test the layout than anything else.

I doubt I'll touch this again now. Too bad, as having a list like this might be valuable; it is rather difficult to ascertain from the forums who maintains certain parts of the project, which might make it difficult for new devs to make contact with the right people and choose this project over another.

By all means don't feel you have to give up on this. Reading over this there is nothing upsetting or spiteful about it. Everyone so far has agreed that its a very good idea myself included. Just the first attempt wasn't what some ppl had in mind I guess

Indeed I find it very useful ! Perhaps you should try to find a way to have a better communication with the team so they express their wishes ?

I thought this was the way to communicate with "the team". I know there is irc, but I can read the forums during down times at work and stretch conversations out over a long time, whereas irc requires more dedicated attention. As for PMing, I wouldn't know where to start (hence this list).

Apparently, from mPod's post, there is a project manager for MP, so maybe that person should chime in about whether this is important or redundant, as they should have a complete (or nearly) list of projects and the people assigned to them (whether or not it is in a public place).

As for working on this more; I would love to. Most people would probably say that a long, constantly changing list with difficult to represent connections between list items would be a pain is the ***, but I think it sounds like fun. I'm not in the slightest bit interested in tension/drama though (I already get that for 8 hours a day), and it seems as though there might be a lot of it associated with task.

I personally think this is a good idea... Case in point is the MPblue project and the new Pocket PC app being created by Burty89. I know burty89 was aware of the MPblue project but at this point it was pretty much unusable so he is working on his own.

oh come on, it wasn't that bad ..I just did'nt find the time and courage to continue it for a while..
