Sorry, but when Client is not connect I see a menu to insert a Server name. So, If client has no this menu I think It is connected.

You have to put the name or IP address of server just the first time, after the name is stored in the computer.

manually delete the server entry in the mediaportal.xml file.

this will force the client to find the server again.

I'm having the same problem.
Tested with two servers (win2003server and XP MCE) and two clients.
If I install Media portal and client plugin to XP server everythin works as they should. If I try to connect from remote client I get screen "Connected to TvServer" but can't get any channels.

1 - I removed the name of the server
2 - I opened MP
3 - It asked me the name of the server
4 - I indicated the name of the server
5 - MP informed that it was linked to the server
6 - but no group,and no channels (!!!)

I made a resete to 2 Pcs and I installed Svn today
Now the client says
"Connected to tv server"
"Unable to connect to database"
Can you help me about this new information

"schau doch mal nach, ob in der "SQL Server 2005 Surface Area Configuration" (dort hast Du auch IP/TCP-IP" aktiviert) unter "SQL Server Browser" der Dienst gestartet ist. Wenn nicht, dann starte ihn. Stell den Starttyp auf "Automatisch", wenn das noch nicht passiert ist."
I did this and OK - I see the channels list
BUT - BUT no image when select a channel
I get this error in a logo file

which server SVN build are you using ? as i notice a fix for this in the changelog in the past couple of days.

I also noticed that I didn't configure SQL servers remote connection (I watched the tutorial videos). I did that. Actually I uninstalled everythin deleted all files and this time did everythin as in the videos (with the latest bilds). But still it doesn't work. No channels for me.
