Hi All

Just wondering if anyone know if this sat card will work well with MP..

Or can anyone suggest the best option for Sat paytv in Aus..

Any suggestions appreciated..

G'day,
I scored the TWINHAN 1034 SAT CI PCI CARD for xmas,
I have a CI CAM IRDETO VERSION 2.21A and am running it with the Austar smartcard, I only have tried it in a test machine so far as not to upset the family.
The twinhan software is serviceable but it doesn't get all the chans, only gets the +2 channels if a channel has one, misses all the doco chans except Disc-Science.
I spent the weekend testing MP and the card with TV3, the TV sever finds the card no worries, once you select the correct sat and scan it found 95% of the channels and unscrambled them no worries, I am still missing HistCh, Disc, Natgeo and FoxSports 3 but everything else seems to be there, I don't have any movie chans turned on so can't say if they work, they have been found by the card tho.
I trailed some recordings in both TS and Mpeg and both worked flawlessly.
picture quality is far superior than what you can get out of the s-vid on the austar box and recordings look very nice.
all in all I'm very happy with it so far, I have a compro t750 which is a nightmare to try and set up and use so I was very happy how the sat card went, that being said I still have a bit to do to find the doco and sport channels.
I baught my card and cam from satplus, prices are good compared to some others, $135 clams

No worries m8, it's frustrating looking into Sat's, it's like a big secret or something, you can get the hardware easy enough but decent software and information barely exist that I can find.

i'm using a twinhan sat-ci 1030a and with a Irdeto Cam Soft Ver. 2.21A P/N 901275 for austar and so far I can't get the cam to allow more then 2 channel requests before it needs a power cycle (reboot or remove cam for 10 seconds)

does a twinhan sat-ci 1038 happily let you change channels indefinitely ?

I can scan all channels, even the new HD ones. ( i have a full subscription)

Yeah m8, my card has no problems like that.
the only real problem I had was in setting up the thing, the default lnb high frequency was 10600 when it needs to be 10700, now scans and gets all the austar chans, only channel that I can work out is missing is abc2.

I would advise upgrading your power supply if it is a bit old or weak, my machine was developing hard drive shut downs due to the psu not being upto the job, I may be wrong but I'm sure if you have the lnb power turned on you are powering the lnb with either 9 or 12 volts, my old psu couldn't hack it.

Are they broadcasting on the HD chans? any time I've had a look they are just back screens with no sound, same as the free to air channels.

my 1030a is not a happy camper trying to descramble the signal. Takes a lot of attempts but it finally happens. Got a 1034 on the way.

can scan in the HD channels but can't watch.

I am powering the LNB, power supply in the PC is fine. My lnb is drawing bugger all, can't detect any AC power draw difference using one of the jaycar watt meters.

Since austar has barred 3rd party decoders form working with their smart cards, I've given up with the 1030a and am about to buy a dreambox. and get a foxtel subscription.

I could never get the 1030a to work with a 2.26d cam properly. I could never get it to even decode properly so I don't know about multiple stream decoding. good luck
