the most interesting part would be to get EVR running on your 32-bit system first. could you attach logfiles from the crashes from there and try using tsreader instead of tsfilesource?

in your logfiles i cannot see anything unusual, except that you are using the old tsfilesource. could you try enabling tsreader? (create an empty file named c:\usetsreader.txt and restart MP). there is also a lengthy thread about this new filter and possible problems. i don't know if there is anything known about if it works on 64-bit vista.

as for the upload, i will try to free some ftp-space on my server for you, and send you a PM with login data later today, or maybe tomorrow. (as bioshock will start to take lots of my spare time in the next week or so ;) )

O.K. attached you get some logfiles ...

In the rar file there are 6 folders with different logfiles from different
configurations. The folders are named with the certain config ...
In there is also a dependencywalker file for the dsshowhelper.dll

So situation on my 32bit system is :

EVR on - CoreAVC - Premiere HD cab - tsreader - crash

EVR on - CoreAVC - Premiere HD cab - tsfilesource - crash

    EVR on - Cyberlink MPEG2 - MPEG2 HD - tsfilesource - working

EVR on - Cyberlink h264 - Premiere HD cab - tsfilesource - crash

EVR off - Cyberlink h264 - Premiere HD cab - tsfilesource - working

EVR on - mkv with VC1 HD no audio - working

So only h264 tsfiles ( maybe only Premiere HD cabs i have to test )
seem to be the problem with EVR on. The error message i get trying
to play the h264 tsfile with EVR points also on something with h264.
But it doesn't seem to be a Cyberlink h264 thing because i get the
same error with CoreAVC ...

    Beschreibung:

So same with a skyHD h264 cab with EVR crash with
error message pointing on cl264.ax, without EVR
    working fine ...

just as a sidenote: do you have the nvidia beta drivers installed? because the 158.xx don't seem to be any good for video playback. the current 163.44 are working reliably so far on my system (8500GT).

on my 32bit system i have a ATI 1550 AGP graphiccard and i am using Catalyst 7.7.

    on my 64bit system i have a NVIDIA 8600 GT and i am using Forceware 162.22, i
have seen that there are new betas but the only advantages seemed to be for
    8500 graphiccards.

Eabin, thanks for your work on this.
I'm using SVN 15507 (13 Aug) and replaced the original dshowhelper.dll with your version from post #196 (168KB vs 92KB looks like you removed lots of code..?:)). I enabled EVR in MP Configuration and avi files does play. I use the ffdshow raw filter as postprocessor and from there I can see all filters currently in use.
The renderer does change to Enhanced Video Renderer but if I open its properties the window says Video Mixing Renderer 9 Properties. Is this just a typo? Opening the same properties in KMPlayer opens the Enhanced Video Renderer Properties window.

    From MediaPortal.log
    Code:
    2007-08-26 21:28:18.381172 [Info.][MPMain]: VideoPlayer:play c:\temp\test.avi
    2007-08-26 21:28:18.409491 [Info.][MPMain]: vmr9:ctor()

    2007-08-26 21:28:18.424138 [Info.][MPMain]: EVR-Flag is set to True
    2007-08-26 21:28:18.527647 [Info.][MPMain]: VMR9: now active
    2007-08-26 21:28:18.528624 [Info.][MPMain]: VMR9Helper:Vmr9 Added
2007-08-26 21:28:18.554013 [Info.][MPMain]: added filter:ffdshow raw video filter to graph
I have VMR9 exclusive mode turned off but still the log says Enabling DX9 exclusive mode and VMR9: now active.
    Is this normal?

I did some more testing on my 64bit system because of your hint
on the new tsreader. On the 64bit system with tsreader the skyHD
and PremiereHD cabs with h264 HDTV now work fine with EVR.

BUT : the MPEG-2 HDTV cabs now bring MP to crash so i have to
close it, but i don't get an error message ...

On my 32bit system i will do a complete uninstall of PowerDVD and
reinstall it because of the error message pointing on the h264 codec.

so the issue with tsreader and MPEG-2 tsfiles seems to belong to the
tsreader because it also freezes MP without EVR ... so i will report the
problem in the NEW FILTER thread and try to solve EVR on my 32bit
    system ...

O.K. i did a complete uninstall and reinstall for PowerDVD because of the
pointing on the CL264dec.ax. But nothing changed ...

Than i tried a newer snapshot and now no tsfile starts, but with and
without EVR  ... i have to look at it

vuego: this is normal, i need to do some renaming for the filters when evr is used (evr is still called "video mixing renderer 9"). you can see if EVR is used by attaching graphedit to MP and look for the name of the input pin. it should be "EVR input". i haven't tried to open the property page yet, maybe this is caused by the wrong naming of the filter too.

i don't know why the log says that exclusive mode is being enabled, because it's not. i have the same line in my logfiles. you can safely ignore them.

as for the filesize: this is caused by different compile options. the code from the current svn should be exactly the same as the dll posted by me.

Gizzmo: i can see some similarities in the logfiles which may indicate the cause of the crash. maybe it has something to do with your card. i only tested this on nvidia hardware. i will look into it, and (once i get rid of the msvcr80.dll dependency) try to upload a trace version for you to nail down the issue. unfortunately i have been short of development time the last couple of days.

edit: which cpu do you have on your 32-bit installation? because powerdvd needs a sse2 capable cpu. speaking of powerdvd: do the .ts files work in powerdvd?
