Yes support is planned.
In the latest M$ SDK there is a standard BDA implementation for this.
We have to see if it's going to be open to Windows XP users also with DirectX 10 & not just XP MCE.

I have some kind of screen delays when TV is on (and timeshifting) and I go back to a previous screen by pressing "ESC".
I also noticed a delay when I try to enter the "My TV" section. The screen freezes for a couple seconds until the tv card is initialized and timeshifting is started.
MediaPortal RC2 hasn't had these issues.

You can convert the dvr-ms file with the myBurner plugin. You don't need to store the file in the my Recordings folder for that. Just move it to the movies folder or somewhere else and run myBurner. You can select all folder and files when converting.
