It wasn't your dat not passing the zero, I moved the IR transmitter about 1 cm away from the front panel & it works everytime now. Fantastic :)

Got to the bottom of the quality issue. Installation of RC3 has wiped the Quality settings area of the Capture Card properties in Configuration. Fiddling with the settings improves things.

I must admit if you use a ghost image you think you have solved your easy reinstall problem.
Hate to think how many times i have done it, until I discovered files from a previous install were still there.
So advise format and then reinstall ghost image just to be on the safe side. Just to make sure it is a CLEAN install.

Are you using ffdshow as a post processor?
Do you have VobSub uinstalled?
If so remove them and see if it works aok.
Also try a different video & audio decoder also.

Ha, I found the solution:
This is a bug in RC3. I just installed 0.2 RC2 and it was fine !!
here is how I can reproduce this:
The 3 files missing in the RC3 release are:
If I copy those 3 files from the RC2 release, everything is fine. If I delete them again, the display is empty again.
Hope that can be resolved...

i think the SDK includes a reference device (kind of like a virtual Viedaocard.. wich runs in software, and therefor is extremely slow..)
