MediaPortal still forces overlay with mymusicvideos and mytrailers.
This seems so backward; there is a fix that has been submitted to the svn pool but it still isn't included!!!
VMR9 gives better PQ over overlay and also allows the effects like osd and menus and aspect ratio control which overlay doesn't in MP

Have you tried The Core Pocket Media Player? (tcpmp) I think you might need to use ORB server though because if I remember correctly tcpmp supports only http streams. I think someone has already mentioned how to go about doing this.

With the latest 0.2.2.0 release, when I start MP in full screen mode, I get no video displayed for TV, DVD, movies,etc, but the small preview windows work.
