Iirc, the crop settings are tuner-specific. With that in mind, it should be possible to use multiple tuners to handle the SD / HD channels. With a tuner dedicated to the HD channels, it should be possible to crop those independently of the SD channels. Keep in mind that the ABC HD feed is only 720 though.

Using DVB dual tuner works better as I don't have to bother with all the crappy MS patches to get both tuners working at once.
